Contemporaneous notes

that are anything but

Contemporaneous notes can be very valuable because they are written immediately after the event before memory has a chance to play games with what we remember. They are particularly credible because they are so fresh.

The police know that and it is the reason they produce notes as if they are "contemporaneous" and therefore "true". It can be no surprise that the notes that corrupt police officers produce are anything but true.

I produce here two sets of notes. One set has been produced by myself and was genuinely contemooraneous, i.e. within one hour of the event. The other set is produced by Inspector Burgess and was written up one day in January, four months after the event.

If something is crooked it is well within the scope of Inspector Burgess.
